WHEN SHOULD I KEEP MY CHILD HOME?
Our center does follow the heath departments recommendations when it comes to communicable disease control. Our priority is the health and safety of our staff and the children in our care. For this reason we do ask that you keep your child home if they exhibit any of the following symptoms;
Illnesses not allowed in our childcare environment.
Fever of 99.9 or higher- Must be fever free for 24hours before they can return.
Head Lice- Must be nit free before they can return. We will conduct a head check upon their arrival back with you in observation in case additional nits are found.
Rash- We must have a note from a physician stating what the diagnoses is and if it is contagous.
Persistant cough- Requires a Dr. note as to what the cough is from and if it is considered contagous.
Hand-Foot-Mouth disease- This illness is extremely contagous and we reserve the right to request your child be absent for a minimum of 7 days from the first symptom. It can take up to 2 weeks for this to go away so it is very important that your child is not around other children while they are exhibiting symptoms.
Any operations a child has requires a minimum of 48 hours before they may return to our center. This includes ear tubes, tonsils removed, teeth pulled or any other surgery requiring sedation. We also ask that parents advise us of any illnesses a child is out for so we can alert other parents of any serious illnesses going around.
